Why Music?
Children have a natural curiosity, and curiosity is the seed of creativity.
Music is creative and advances learning abilities. Music offers your child an exciting opportunity to channel that natural curiosity into creative endeavor. It nurtures independent thinking that will carry over into other aspects of the child's curriculum and be applied to
many subjects other than music.
It is more than coincidental that nationwide studies have shown students in school music programs achieve higher averages in all subjects and develop academically at a
faster pace than students who do not take any form of an arts class.
Winter Band Concert!!!
It's time for our Winter Concert at Lake Gibson High School!!! Our band students are really looking forward to putting on a great show!!! Please arrive by 6:30 p.m. in the LGHS auditorium. Beginning Band students should be in their seats by 6:30 p.m. on stage. Click on the "more" tab above then uniforms if you are unsure of what the performers need to wear. A large portion of their performance grade depends on wearing the correct uniform to the concert!
